Quad Suzuki Outboards Four Times the Fun

In a world first, four 300hp Four Stroke Suzuki Outboards have been selected to power a tourist boat, delivering a massive 1200hp.

Two 25-inch and two 30-inch DF300s were fitted to a purpose-built 12.5 metre Naiad R.I.B. destined for eco tourism company Sensational Wave Adventures in Forster, Australia.

Boat builders Woody Marine and Suzuki distributor The Haines Group took the boat for its maiden run on Moreton Bay. With 30 people on board, they were still reaching speeds of 47 knots.

The Haines Group's Greg Haines said controlling the four Outboards was simple due to Suzuki Precision Control. The sophisticated electronic throttle and shift system synchronizes engine RPM in multiple outboard installations, providing precision operation right at your fingertips.

"You get the engines within 100 revs of each other and then you just press the sync. button," Greg said.

The quad rigging would be useful for search and rescue, pilot boats and tourist applications, Woody Marine's David Green said.

"Tourism is a big market, because the motors are lightweight for their size, they spin a big prop and the fuel economy is excellent," David said.
